Our Story

How it all started...

From the beginning, worship was central to the life of the church. In its early years, every service opened with the singing of the Doxology, reflecting a shared commitment to glorifying God and anchoring the congregation in faith, even through seasons of loss and uncertainty. That foundation of worship and perseverance would carry the church forward in the years to come.
In 1978, the church completed its first permanent building, serving a congregation of approximately 80 people. Tragically, just weeks before the first service could be held, the pastor passed away unexpectedly following an accident. The first gathering in the new building became a service of remembrance, as the church came together for his funeral—a moment that deeply marked the congregation and shaped its early identity.

Expanding the vision...

In 2013, the church outgrew its original worship center and moved forward with plans to build a new wing, including a large fellowship hall and dedicated youth ministry spaces with a small auditorium.
By 2015, continued growth led the church to relocate the sanctuary into the fellowship hall to accommodate more people each week. While this met an immediate need, it also required ministries to share spaces originally designed for other purposes
This season highlighted both God’s faithfulness in sustaining growth and the growing need for intentional, ministry-specific environments, preparing Mt. Calvary for its next chapter.

Where we are headed...

God is continuing to expand the ministry and mission of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Our newly built Family Life Center will serve as a hub for connection, discipleship, and outreach — featuring modern small-group classrooms, a full gym, and flexible gathering spaces designed to serve all generations. This space will allow us to host sports camps and leagues, support mission teams, and create new opportunities for community engagement throughout the year. As we grow, our heart remains the same: to create environments where families are strengthened, students are discipled, and the gospel is lived out both inside and outside the church walls.
